Microsoft is changing the taskbar and start menu of Windows 11
Many of the customers complained that the taskbar of Windows 11 lags behind Windows 10 in terms of usability. There was also dissatisfaction with the start menu. The news is that Microsoft is working on the necessary development of Windows 11's taskbar and start menu.
Users complained about the absence of the date and clock in the Windows 11 taskbar when using multiple monitors. However, according to technology site Verge, in a new update in the hands of Windows Insider, Microsoft is bringing back the feature of viewing time and date on multiple monitors. The update is still in the testing phase.
In addition to the taskbar, Microsoft is also developing Windows 11 Start Menu. Verge says Microsoft has added the ability to add more PINs and "recommendations" to the Start menu in the new 22509 Insider build. Thanks to this feature, users will be able to customize the Start menu to their liking on a larger scale. However, Verge says that many users have already turned to third-party apps for this purpose.
Microsoft is also working on the 22509 Insider Build settings app. The software giant is making those changes as part of an effort to add more 'Control Panel' locations to the original settings app.
Amanda Langowski, head of the Microsoft Windows Insider program, said: "We've moved the Advanced Sharing settings (such as Network Discovery, File and Printer Sharing and Public Folder Sharing) to the Settings app's Advanced Network Settings."
Verge says the 'Printers and Scanners' section of the settings page has also changed. However, some control panel parts will take the user directly to the main settings app. Considering these changes, there are indications that Microsoft is gradually moving from the control panel to the more modern settings app - commented Verge.
However, users will have to wait a few more months to reap the benefits of these changes. Microsoft is now restricting the changes to developers. If the functionality is proven, the features that Microsoft releases for Windows every month may be part of it, or else it will go to the annual update of Windows 11.
